Terms and Conditions
General
- All flights are subject to suitable weather conditions. The voucher holder, student or pilot is responsible for phoning on the day of their flight, before heading to the airport, to confirm that weather conditions are suitable for the flight to proceed. While we endeavour to make accurate weather decisions, the weather can be unpredictable. We reserve the right to cancel a flight even after the customer has arrived if we feel the conditions have changed and they now compromise flight safety. We accept no liability for any costs incurred (e.g. transport, accommodation, insurance, days taken off work etc.) when flying has to be cancelled.
- Flights are subject to aircraft serviceability and staff availability. As a result, flights are subject to cancellation at very short notice due to operational changes. We reserve the right to cancel a flight even after the customer has arrived if we feel the aircraft serviceability has changed and that this now compromises flight safety. We accept no liability for any costs incurred (e.g. transport, accommodation, insurance, days taken off work etc.) when flying has to be cancelled.
- Flynqy Pilot Training reserves the right to refuse entry onto an aircraft to any person that the instructor (as Captain of the aircraft) or the management deems unfit to fly (for example, if we believe you may be under the influence of alcohol or drugs).
- Whilst every precaution is taken for the safety of passengers, the owner/operator cannot be held liable for loss, damage or injury which does not result from their negligence.
- A fuel surcharge may be applicable at the point of redeeming your flight if the price of aviation fuel is affected by changes in Tax Regulations or has been affected by any other significant price increase.
- Except in exceptional circumstances, you must give 48 hours to Flynqy Pilot Training if you intend to cancel your flight. Last-minute cancellations, no-shows and repeated cancellations will be charged a cancellation fee of £50.00 per hour booked to cover the cost of the instructor's time. Pilots, students and flight experience customers are asked to ensure that they arrive at the flying school in sufficient time to plan and prepare their flight (where required), sign in, and be ready to depart at the booked time to allow us to maximise our aircraft and instructor resources. If a student fails to turn up prepared for a lesson, and there is insufficient time to complete the necessary briefing and flight, then this may result in the practical flight being cancelled to ensure that subsequent flights remain on schedule and the student may be charged for the instructor’s time.
- A minimum transaction value of £10 is required to pay by debit or credit card. Please note that we cannot accept American Express cards or cash payments. Bank transfers are accepted; however, please note that customers are responsible for all bank charges, and any levied to Flynqy Pilot Training will be recharged to the customer. For Bank Transfers, please ensure that a clear reference is made so that we can allocate the payment correctly. If you wish to pay by Bank Transfer, then this must be made in advance of your flight, and the payment must have cleared into our account before we are able to conduct your flight.
- All prices quoted include VAT unless otherwise stated and are correct at the time of publication. We reserve the right to increase or decrease the prices without providing formal written notice.
- Where chargeable Value Added Tax will be charged at the rate applicable at the date of dispatch, cash settlements discount is not available on Value Added Tax.
- The rights and obligations of the parties and all the terms and conditions hereof and any disputes arising out thereof shall be construed in accordance with English law and jurisdiction of the courts of which the purchaser shall submit.
- All pilots, students and passengers are required to become members of Flynqy Pilot Training and must have completed an up-to-date membership form before flight. It is a requirement that all pilots and students sign the Operations Manual to confirm that the terms of operation at Flynqy Pilot Training have been read, understood and adhered to on an annual basis or when changes have been made, whichever comes first. For students or pilots undergoing an approved course of training, the course training manual should be read and signed as early as possible during the course to confirm understanding of the course requirements, course delivery and successful completion standards.
- Flights are charged as airborne time plus 10 minutes (5 minutes prior to take-off and 5 minutes after landing). The Pilot in Command is responsible for correctly recording the take-off and landing time for each flight. We will conduct periodic checks and audits with Air Traffic Control of logged flight times, and any pilot found to be making a false claim will be subject to a charge of the flight time difference plus an administration charge of £50.00. Pilots who continue to log flights falsely, even after suitable retraining and advice, will have their membership revoked and will be barred from hiring a Flynqy Pilot Training aircraft.
- Pilots and student pilots are liable to pay the excess detailed on the aircraft insurance policy should an accident occur whilst they are in command.
Trial Flight Experiences
- A minimum age of eight years is required for participants wishing to take the aircraft's controls during a Trial Flight Experience. For Flight Experiences in our Robin R3000, we regret that we cannot carry any passenger under four years of age. When passengers are between the ages of 4 and 8, we require the passenger to be accompanied in the back by a supervising adult.
- Each Flight Experience voucher has a unique voucher number which must be quoted when contacting Flynqy Pilot Training. Trial Flight Experience and Land Away Flight Experience vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase, and expiry dates will be clearly printed on the voucher. You must use the voucher before the expiry date printed on the ticket, or the voucher will cease to be valid.
- Trial Flight Experiences vouchers are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of management. Although we are sympathetic to customers who are cancelled or rescheduled due to weather or for other reasons beyond our control, we are unable to grant refunds. We accept no liability for any costs incurred (e.g. transport, accommodation, insurance, days taken off work etc.) when flying has to be cancelled. If a refund is granted, an administration charge of £25 will be deducted from the original transaction value. Please note that refunds can only be made directly back to the purchaser using the original payment method.
- Trial Flight Experience vouchers are non-transferable except at the discretion of management. Where transfers are granted, Flynqy Pilot Training will require the new recipient's full name before the flight is booked. Please note that we do not reissue the voucher, and the expiry date will remain the same as the expiry date that is printed on the original voucher. The new recipient should bring the original voucher to their booking to redeem their experience.
- Due to our generous validity period duration and ease of booking, please note that we do not offer complimentary extensions except where we have had to postpone your booked flight attempt on five or more occasions caused by circumstances outside of our control (e.g. weather, technical issues, staff sickness etc.), during the voucher's validity period. In these exceptional circumstances, management will offer a one-time, complimentary limited extension. Flynqy Pilot Training will only provide one free complimentary extension per voucher if the above criteria have been met, and it is the voucher holders' responsibility to ensure that they make every effort to redeem the experience during this extended period.
- Once booked, if you cancel your flight experience with less than 48 hours notice, fail to arrive by the stated time, or do not show up for your flight, then a cancellation fee of £45.00 will be charged to cover the cost of the instructor's time. This cancellation fee must be paid in full prior to any subsequent booking attempts being permitted. If you cancel your flight with less than 48 hours notice, or fail to show up for your flight, on more than three occassions then the voucher will be classed as flown and rendered void. No refund or rebooking opportunity will be provided. You may change your booking by providing a minimum of 48 hours notice. In exceptional circumstances, this may be waived at the discretion of management.
- If you wish to extend your voucher but did not make the five attempts to fly as mentioned above, you may extend the voucher's validity period for a further three months. You may do this by calling our operations team and paying an extension fee of £40, but you must contact us during the voucher's validity period. In addition, if the retail value of your experience has increased since the time of purchase (or since the time of the last extension payment), you will also be required to pay the difference between the value of your voucher at the time of payment and the current advertised price. Extensions will be applied from the current expiry date printed on the voucher, not the date the extension was purchased. Unfortunately, we cannot fly you if your voucher has expired without your voucher being extended first. You can continue to extend your voucher for additional three-month blocks if the above criteria have been met.
- We do not contact you to book in a flight date. It is the voucher holder's responsibility to be proactive in booking flight dates, taking into consideration that flights may be cancelled if weather conditions mean it is unsafe to conduct your flight. You must ensure that you leave enough time to make these five attempts before your flight voucher expires for us to consider applying a complimentary extension. Therefore we do recommend that you attempt to make your first booking attempt in the first six months of the vouchers validity period.
- Weight and medical restrictions apply. If you have any concerns regarding the recipient's health, age, height or weight, please make these known on purchasing the voucher. Please contact us before buying a voucher if the intended recipient is over 14.5 stone / 90kg or over 6ft so that we can advise the most appropriate flight option for them.
- All quoted flight times are approximate and may vary on the day of the flight due to weather and operational procedures. All quoted flight times include taxiing time before taking off and after landing but do not include the pre or post-flight briefing, which will be completed separately.
Starter Package Gift Vouchers
- A minimum age of fourteen years is required for participants wishing to take the aircraft's controls during a Starter Package. For packages in our Robin R3000, we regret that we cannot carry any passenger under four years of age. When passengers are between the ages of 4 and 8, we require the passenger to be accompanied in the back by a supervising adult. There may be specific flight exercises where an instructor may suggest that passengers should not be carried for passenger comfort.
- Each Starter Package Voucher has a unique voucher number which must be quoted when contacting Flynqy Pilot Training. Each Starter Package contains either three or five one hour flying lessons. Starter Package vouchers are valid for six months from the date of purchase, and expiry dates will be clearly printed on the voucher. You must have redeemed all starter package flights before the expiry date printed on the ticket, or the package (or the remainder of the package) will cease to be valid.
- Starter Packages are strictly limited to one three or five hour package per customer. Once completed, if a customer wishes to proceed with training, they will need to move to our Pay As You Go or Advanced Payment Scheme for the continuation of their training.
- Starter Package vouchers are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of management. Where refunds are granted, an administration charge of £25 will be deducted from the original transaction value. In addition, if the starter package has been started or the additional items (including, but not limited to, the Pooleys Air Pilot Manual Volume 1, Private Pilot Logbook, Flynqy Pilot Training Keyring, Aircraft Checklist, the CAA Skyway Code and package folder) have already been dispatched, then the retail cost of these flights, any dispatched items and any additional postage charges will also be deducted from the refund value. Please note that refunds can only be made directly back to the purchaser using the original payment method.
- Starter Package vouchers are non-transferable except at the discretion of management. If a Starter Package is transferred part-way through use, please note that the additional items (including, but not limited to, the Pooleys Air Pilot Manual Volume 1, Private Pilot Logbook, Flynqy Pilot Training Keyring, Aircraft Checklist, the CAA Skyway Code and package folder) dispatched with the package will not be reissued.
- Due to our generous validity period duration and ease of booking, please note that we do not offer complimentary extensions except where we have had to postpone one or more of your attempted starter package lessons on five or more occasions caused by circumstances outside of our control (e.g. weather, technical issues, staff sickness etc.), during the voucher's validity period.
- Once booked, if you cancel your starter package lesson with less than 48 hours notice, fail to arrive by the stated time, or do not show up for your flight, then a cancellation fee of £45.00 per hour will be charged to cover the cost of the instructor's time. This cancellation fee must be paid in full prior to any subsequent booking attempts to complete your package being permitted. If you cancel your flights with less than 48 hours notice, or fail to show up for your flights, on more than three occassions then the starter package will be classed as flown and rendered void. You may change your booking by providing a minimum of 48 hours notice. In exceptional circumstances, this may be waived at the discretion of management.

You must ensure that you leave enough time to make these five attempts before your flight voucher expires for us to consider applying a complimentary extension. Therefore we do recommend that you attempt to make your first booking attempt in the first two months of the vouchers validity period.

Advanced Payment Scheme, Training Packages and Hour Building Packages
- Flight Training or Aircraft Hire purchased through the Flight Training Advanced Payment Scheme is non-refundable and non-transferable. The discounts provided on aircraft hire rates through the Flight Training Advanced Payment Scheme are only redeemable when pre-payment funds remain in credit over £300.00.
- Account credit added through the pre-payment scheme is valid for use for a period of 3 years from the date of payment. All pre-payment accounts will have annual membership automatically deducted whilst the account remains in credit on the 01st of January each year, regardless of whether the student or pilot has been actively flying.
- Hours purchased through an Hour Building Package are non-refundable and non-transferable. Unless otherwise specified all hour building packages are quoted on a dry-rate basis and are exclusive of fuel, oil, instructor, landings, circuits, approach fees, parking and handling fees incurred at Cornwall Airport Newquay and other airfields throughout the package.
- Training purchased through a pre-paid training package, such as the night rating or instrument rating (restricted), is non-refundable and non-transferable. These packages may have an expiry date, which will be printed on your package paperwork. All ground instruction and flight instruction must be completed within the validity of the package or it will cease to be valid.
- Minimum Rental Charges apply to all extended solo hire bookings. Where an aircraft is booked for a Half Day, it is expected that the pilot plans to fly for at least 1.5 Hours (weekday) or 2 Hours (weekends). Where an aircraft is booked for a Full Day, it is expected that the pilot plans to fly for 3 Hours (weekdays) or 4 Hours (weekends). Flynqy Pilot Training accepts that pilots may need to alter or reduce their planned flight hours to suit weather conditions, daylight hours, pilot and passenger health, etc.; these are guideline hours only for planning and booking and are to give the pilot some indication of the types of flights that may be accepted when extended bookings are requested.
Complaints Procedure
- If a customer has any reason to complain about the flying training or flight experience they have received, they should first discuss the complaint with their instructor. If they cannot resolve the complaint, we will refer the matter to the Chief Flying Instructor. If the customer is still unsatisfied with the response, then we will refer the matter to the Managing Director.
- If a customer has any reason to complain about the general service they have received, and we cannot resolve their complaint immediately, then the customer should send full details of the circumstances surrounding their complaint to the Operations Manager. If the customer is still unsatisfied with the response, then we will refer the matter to the Managing Director.
